- Drop
- Use a turn to place an unpromoted piece from hand on an empty square.
- Nifu
- A pawn drop is forbidden on a file with your own unpromoted pawn.
- Tsume
- The king is attacked and has no legal escape: checkmate.
- Repetition
- Fourfold repetition normally causes a replay; perpetual checking that causes repetition loses.
