Meet the game

Texas Hold'em emerged in early-20th-century Texas and has been the World Series of Poker main event since 1970. Each player holds two private cards; five community cards are dealt in stages (flop, turn, river) across four betting rounds, and the best five-card hand wins.

Its depth lies not in hand rankings but in decisions: position, pot odds, range thinking and reading behaviour. This site teaches rules, odds and strategy using simulated chips with no cash value — no real money.

Beginner questions

Learn Texas Hold’em hole cards, community cards, hand rankings and betting rounds, then practise at a table with teaching chips. No real money.

Which five cards make a Hold’em hand?

Choose the best five cards from your two hole cards and the five community cards. You may use zero, one or both hole cards. Compare hand categories first, then the relevant ranks and kickers.

Can teaching chips be bought or cashed out?

No. Chips and balances explain actions and settlement. There are no purchases, withdrawals, cash rewards or exchanges, and practice results do not demonstrate profitability.

Play

Start with suits, simulated bets and balances, then try random heads-up or multiplayer hands, or a direct friend room. Teaching chips cannot be purchased, cashed out or exchanged for prizes.
